UPDATE ON COVID-19

Like all of you, we continue to monitor the evolving impact of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and the effect it currently has on how we live and do business right now. Here is an update on what we are doing in our corporate offices and dealer locations in light of these unprecedented times.

HEALTH AND SAFETY COMES FIRST.

Following guidance from local government and public health authorities, we understand that practicing social distancing and reducing public gatherings in our corporate offices and dealerships is critical.

Kia Canada was quick to respond to COVID-19 by suspending all non-essential business travel in our corporate offices and as the situation evolved, we immediately implemented a remote work program so that our corporate office could continue to support our customers and dealers while limiting physical interaction.

We are hopeful the early measures we have taken at Kia Canada will help to maintain the safety of our employees and have an impact in limiting any potential spread of the virus.

THE POWER TO GIVE

Kia cares for our community, customers and colleagues and for the past 20 years, we’ve been mobilizing Canadians to move with safety and confidence.

To give back to Canadians during these challenging times, Kia Canada is pledging $200,000 to Food Banks Canada to support hunger relief efforts across the country amid the current global pandemic. In partnership with the organization, we are also providing vehicles to help enable local food banks and their dedicated team members to continue to serve Canadians and also working with our dealer network to support them in their efforts with food banks across Canada.

For our customers that have been impacted by COVID-19 please know that we have reached out to the various financial partners that we work with to encourage them to explore possible options to assist you. As each situation is unique, if you find yourself in need of assistance, we encourage you to reach out to the financial institution for your particular contract to explore what options may be available to you.

At the time of writing, a number of Provinces have called for non-essential services to be shut down. Please note that the Parts & Service operations of a dealership are considered essential services and as such are permitted to remain open to handle any urgent situations you might have.

DEALER LOCATIONS

During this challenging time we recognize our customers may still have repair or service requirements.

Please note that depending on the Province, some dealerships may have adjusted their hours of operation temporarily so please call ahead to confirm the dealership’s hours of operation.

We have advised our dealerships to listen to their public health offices, practice social distancing and take the necessary precautions for their people and their customers. Keep in mind that our dealer partners are independently owned and operated and may take decisions based on their specific local situation.
